Program Summary
The purpose of this certificate is to ease the transfer of courses from one Illinois higher education institution to another by incorporating the states’ basic course requirements for college freshmen and sophomores.
The General Education Core Curriculum (GECC) credential may be awarded to a student upon completion of 37-41 credit hours across five academic disciplines which satisfy the General Education Core Curriculum of the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI).
