The Shawnee Community College Bookstore is institutionally owned and operated. The
Bookstore's primary function is to distribute new and used textbooks and academic supplies to
students.
The best time to purchase textbooks is right before the semester begins. At this time all the
books have been received for the semester. Students have the option of purchasing a new or
used textbook. Used book purchases provide an excellent opportunity for the student to save
money. Used books can be purchased for 25% off the new book price.
Hours of Operation
The Bookstore hours are 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Friday with extended hours until 7 p.m.
during registration and the first week of each semester.
Beginning of Semester Refund Policy
Textbooks may be refunded during the FIRST TWO WEEKS of a semester.
New books must be in the same condition as when purchased. Marked or soiled
books will be refunded at 75% of the new price. Reference books and merchandise must be
returned within SEVEN days of purchase.
End of Semester Buyback
The Bookstore will buy back books at 50% of the book price to the extent appropriate inventory
levels are met. After we meet our anticipated needs, books are purchased for a used book
distributor. The Bookstore offers a wholesale price for these books. Buyback dates are the end
of the semester during finals week.
