Purchasing Books on Campus
To purchase textbooks at the SCC Bookstore, you must bring your SCC ID card, and your course schedule!

Textbooks purchases are eligible for a full refund for one week after the class has started.
You must present your receipt for a refund.
New books must be in the same condition as when purchased.
Marked or soiled books will be refunded at 75% of the new price.
Books that are shrink-wrapped or contain software are not eligible for a refund after being opened or installed.
General merchandise and reference materials are only eligible for returns within seven days with a receipt.

Consumables: What do they mean to you as a student?
These are books or supplements required for the course that are not able to be brought back once used for refund or buyback. They are not covered by any type of SCC Scholarship, Waiver, High Honors Escrow, etc. They are covered by Financial Aid.

End of Semester Buyback
The bookstore will buy back books at the fair market value price to the extent appropriate inventory levels are met. After we meet our anticipated needs, books may be purchased by a used book distributor at a wholesale price.
Book condition is a factor for both bookstore and wholesale buybacks.
Buybacks are conducted at the end of each semester during the week of finals.
Students need to bring their IDs to sell their books.
Scholarship books are due back at this time also.

The Shawnee Community College Bookstore is institutionally owned and operated.
The Bookstore's primary function is to distribute new and used textbooks and academic supplies to students.
