Minimum Computer Requirements
for Online Instruction

• A computer with a Pentium processor, or better, with minimum of 32mb of RAM.
• A computer monitor should have a minimum resolution of 800x600, most platforms can be accessed with a lower resolution of 640x480 but scroll bars may interfere with the interface.
• A 56 KBPS modem will provide a minimal acceptable performance. However DSL or a comparable high speed internet provider is recommended.
• Internet access through a local Internet Service Provider
• To access your online class in SCC’s Blackboard, we recommend you use one of the following web browsers: Internet Explorer 7, Firefox 2.0, or Safari 3. Other browsers or other versions of the listed browsers may experience problems when accessing your Blackboard classroom and you may experience some loss of functionality as a result. To determine your browser version, go to the "About" link in your browser’s "Help" menu.
• An active e-mail account.
• A word processing program, such as Microsoft Word is also required.
