Paraprofessional Certification Offered at Shawnee C.C.

Shawnee Community College offers paraprofessional preparation and testing for students who wish to become certified paraprofessionals or instructional teacher's aides. The eight week preparation course, EDU130/21, begins on October 14.

This one credit hour course will meet on Tuesday evenings from 5 to 7 p.m. on the main campus. The class prepares students who are planning to take the WorkKeys Exam for certification. This course is also designed to review those who are preparing to take the Illinois Test of Basic Skills to enter a Teacher Education Program in Illinois.

The WorkKeys Exam will be given at SCC on December 16th at 9 a.m. on the main campus. The cost of the exam is $50. Students must prepay and register by November 30 to take the exam. To request WorkKeys registration forms call Sharon Walker at 618-634-3235.
