New Scholarship Available

A new $1000 academic scholarship is available for the fall 2006 semester for one Shawnee Community College freshman. Donated by Board of Trustee member Dr. Richard Trampe and his wife, Dr. Catherine Trampe, this scholarship will help one more SCC student bear the financial burden that college students face. The scholarship money can be applied to tuition and fees, books, and supplies. Requirements for the scholarship are:

- Must be a graduate of Joppa or Massac Unit #1 High Schools
- Must be enrolled in an educational prep curriculum
- Must have earned a 3.25 GPA in high school and maintain that average at SCC to renew
- Must provide 2 letters of recommendation
- Must submit a one-page essay: "Why I want to go into an Educational Career"

The application deadline for this scholarship is May 1, 2006.
