Truck Driving Range Resurfaced

Shawnee Community College’s Truck Driving program was recently awarded the funds to re-surface the truck driving training lot on main campus. The $25,000 grant was awarded from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. The grant contributed to the $54,000 total cost of the project. Southern Illinois Asphalt Co. completed the resurfacing project.

Senator Gary Forby and Representative Brandon Phelps recognized the college’s need, and assisted SCC with attaining the funds for this required restoration to the campus. Senator Forby stated that he is a strong supporter of SCC and that he and Representative Phelps will continue to work with the college to secure other funds to improve Shawnee Community College.
