Today several Trio Talent Search students from grades 6 and 7 had the opportunity to learn about proper dining etiquette and table manners during the SCC Talent Search Nutrition Camp. The students enjoyed a delicious five course meal. The "Dining With Flair" workshop was conducted in part by the University of Illinois Extension Center project members.
After the workshop, students spent some time exploring the basic strategies of golf. Shawnee Community College's golf coach D.W. Davis worked with the students, exposing them to a great sport that many students have never tried. "This was a lot of fun, for both kids and me," Davis said. "And they learned some things, too. I could see improvement after just an hour."
