Verdanassac Senior Graduates SCC
05/04/07
One Massac County High School senior will graduate from two schools this summer. Stacie Hines of Metropolis will graduate from Massac County High School, and from Shawnee Community College with an Associate of Arts Degree.
Hines has been taking classes at SCC since her sophomore year in high school through SCC’s Escrow Program. The Escrow Program allows high school students to earn college credits to get a head start on their college career. “I started taking classes because I was in education talent search, and I got the escrow scholarship,” Hines said. She only needs four more classes to complete the 64-credit-hour degree.
Hines said her favorite part about SCC is “how friendly everyone is at Shawnee. I had a lot of one-on-one help from all of my instructors, which made it easy to do well.” Hines plans to attend Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn. this fall to study Music Business.
