Saints Read Travels to Vienna

In honor of The Week of the Young Child, Shawnee Community College visited Johnson County Early Learning Center Class D, in Vienna IL on April 17th. Mrs. Della Naese's Preschool Class enjoyed stories read by SCC staff and students. The students especially enjoyed "Bernie," the SCC mascot.

SAINTS READ is a Shawnee Community College literacy initiative. The program encourages area school children to read regularly to succeed in school and in life. The program is sponsored by SCC Athletics and Future Teachers Organization. Coach Sparks left a final message to the preschoolers that "readers are winners!"
