Shawnee Names New Board Member
A native from Massac County, Randall L. (Randy) Rushing, CPA, MBA is named as the new board member for Shawnee Community College. Born in 1956 to Roy and Claudine Rushing of Massac County, he attended Unity Grade School and Metropolis Community High School.
Randy went on to earn degrees in Accounting and Finance from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. From there, he went to Murray State University to earn his Masters of Business Administration. He has been a CPA since 1984.
Randy worked in industry, banking, and computer data processing for over 25 years and opened his own CPA and Tax Consulting Practice in 2008.
He has been married to the former Kathy Oliver for over 35 years and they have two grown children, Zachary Rushing and Amanda Holbrook and one grandson, Logan.
Randy had the pleasure to serve as a past member of the Massac Unit One School Board, and currently serves as a Board Member and Officer of several local Boards, including the Massac Memorial Hospital Board and the Massac-Metropolis Port District Board, The Metropolis Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Southern 14 Workforce Investment Board.
Shawnee Community College is glad to have such a fine individual in our community to be a part of the SCC family. We welcome Randy Rushing to the Shawnee Community College Board of Trustees and we are very excited for the journey ahead with him.
