Spring/Semester Registration Continues at SCC

Registration for the upcoming spring semester classes at Shawnee Community will continue through the first day of instruction, Wednesday, January 11. Just a couple of weeks into the registration period, some classes are already full so students are encouraged to enroll early. Students can register for the spring semester during regular college hours, Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. The college's administrative offices, including extension centers, will be closed Thursday, November 24, and Friday, November 25.

The fall semester ends on Friday, December 16, and grades will be available on Saints Online after verification. All SCC campus locations will be closed Thursday, December 22 through Friday, December 30, for the Christmas and New Year's holidays. Offices will re-open on Monday, January 2.

The SCC enrollment management plan has several payment options. Students must make financial arrangements to secure spots in classes and save their seat. Payment options include securing financial aid such as scholarships, grant funding or through other funding agencies; self-pay through the online e-cashier, pay in full at the bursar's office with cash, check or credit card, or at one of the extension centers by cash or check.

Director of Admissions Dee Blakley recommends that students call or stop by the admissions desk at the main campus or any of the extension centers in Cairo, Metropolis, or Anna to make an appointment to meet with an advisor. Students who meet certain criteria can enroll online using the Saints Online website. Both returning and new students should make advisement and registration appointments as soon as possible.

When meeting with SCC advisors, students can expect guidance in planning their program of study and class schedules. Students cannot be admitted into a curriculum before he or she has completed placement testing or advised. For complete information, pick up a spring schedule booklet at any extension center, the main campus, or access the schedule online at www.shawneecc.edu, or call 800-481-2242 or 618-634-3200.
