Shawnee College Collecting Electronics as part of Recycling Grant

In an effort to divert old electronic equipment from Illinois landfills, Shawnee Community College has begun collecting a long list of items for recycling.
Through a state-funded electronic recycling grant, the college will accept and recycle the following items:
Please Note: Due to the cost of disposal of leaded Glass we are not accepting tube type TV's or Computer Monitors at this time.
all other computer components (except tube type monitors) towers, CPUs, mice, keyboards, drives, etc.
printers
laptops
hard drives
tape drives
zip drives
scanners
PDA's
radios
stereos
DVD players
VCRs
compact disc players
tape players
remote controls
electronic game systems and accessories
fax machines
copy and duplicating machines
answering machines
cameras
camcorders
cell phones
modems
pagers
telephones
telephone equipment
CD-ROMs
medical equipment
cables
cords and other computer peripheries
calculators
postage machines
printed circuit boards
electric typewriters
fans
and word processors.
Such equipment is being collected at the Shawnee Community College main campus near Ullin or at any of the extension centers located in Anna, Metropolis, and Cairo.
