SCC Students Named to Phi Theta Kappa
All-Illinois Academic Team

 Tyler Simons of Paducah and McKayla Wolfe of Grand Chain were recently recognized as members of the Phi Theta Kappa All-Illinois Academic Team at a conference in Springfield. PTK is the international honor society for two-year colleges. The PTK All-USA Academic Team is sponsored annually by PTK, USA Today, and the American Association of Community Colleges. The All-Illinois Academic Team honors outstanding Illinois community college students.
Simons attended SCC on a baseball scholarship and played with the Saints during his freshman and sophomore years. Earlier this month he received his Associate of Science degree from SCC and will attend Murray State University in the fall. Simons is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and Who’s Who Among American College Students. He is the son of Jay and Terri Simons of Paducah.
Wolfe attended SCC on a valedictorian scholarship and maintained a 4.0 grade point average throughout her tenure at SCC, completing her Associate of Science degree this spring. She will transfer to Murray State University to study exercise science. In addition to the All-Illinois Academic Team honor, she is recognized in Who’s Who Among American College Students. Wolfe is the daughter of Steve and Gayla Wolfe of Grand Chain.
