Paraprofessional Workshops

Shawnee Community College is offering a Paraprofessional Preparation Course this summer. This one-credit-hour course, EDU 130, prepares individuals to take the WorkKeys or Paraprofessional Test, which meets No Child Left Behind Act requirements. As of June 2006, instructional teacher's aides will be required to have Paraprofessional Certification. Passing the WorkKeys or Paraprofessional test is one way to attain certification. Preparation Courses are offered at Shawnee Community College, main campus and at the SCC extension center in Anna. The WorkKeys Test will be given twice this summer; June 20 and July 25. The cost of this workshop is equivalent to a one-credit hour course at SCC.
