Golden Oldies Band Retro Rock-n-Roll Show

On Saturday, January 26 at 7 p.m., Shawnee Community College will host a Golden Oldies Band Retro Rock-n-Roll Show in the SCC Educational Center located on the main campus near Ullin. The presentation features a full 50s and 60s rock-Retro Rock-n-roll show with retro costumes, vintage style instruments, sound effects, backdrops, time machine, and 50's and 60's music. The show promises high energy fun, with non-stop excitement! The SCC cafeteria will be transformed in to the SCC Burger and Malt Shop, serving the decade's favorites beginning at 5:30 p.m. for additional cost.

Get ready to sing-along with "Runaround Sue," "Little Runaway," "La bamba," "The Twist," and many more. The St. Louis based band plays rock-n-roll songs popular in the late 50's and early 60's. The band is decked out in vintage style from retro costumes like fedora hats, and hot rod bowling shirts, to musical instruments like hollow-body electric guitars, and the blue sparkle jazz style drums set.

The band will take you back using a sound effect that sounds like a time machine. This effect generated through the sound system; when the sound stops, a year appears on the "Magic" Mixing board/Time machine. The band then plays a song from that year.
