as well as the community at large.
If you would like to promote your business and identify qualified candidates
for employment opportunities, make plans now to attend the job fair. There
is no charge to participate. Exhibitors may set-up from 7:30 to 9 a.m. the
day of the event.
Individuals seeking employment opportunities are urged
to attend this annual event. More than 45 employers will be available to discuss
employment opportunities.
The Southernmost IL Delta Empowerment Zone (SIDEZ) and
the IL Department of Employment Security will be available to complete a conditional
certification for people ages 18-24 that live within the SIDEZ area. These
individuals are eligible to receive a Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) pre-certification
form to take to their employer at the time of hire. The employer is eligible
to claim up to $2,400 Work Opportunity Tax Credit on their federal income
taxes for hiring eligible youth, regardless of whether or not the employer
is located in the empowerment zone. Youth ages 16 to 17 who live within the
empowerment zone can also be certified for summer employment, enabling employers
to take the WOTC.
