High School Art Competition Scheduled for March 28

Shawnee Community College invites community members to the 2009 High School Art Exhibition. Artwork by talented students from high schools throughout the SCC district will be exhibited in the SCC atrium from March 28 to April 3. The opening ceremony and reception will be on March 28, at 7:00 p.m.

Prizes will be awarded in three dimensional works, painting, drawing, pastels and oil crayons, and photography and graphic design, with each category receiving first, second, third and honorable mention awards. Brent Webb will serve as judge and will be available at the opening to provide formal critiques. For more information, contact Shawnee Community College art instructor Mike Faris at 618-634-3257.
