Laptops for Goreville Valedictorians 8/15 /08
Over the past four years, area high school valedictorians worked hard for the top-spot distinction. As a reward for their dedication, Shawnee Community College awards full scholarships to those worthy graduates. In addition to SCC tuition waivers and textbook loans, SCC President, Larry Peterson, presented Goreville High School valedictorians, Kelsey Tripp and Eden Morrison new, state-of-the-art laptops to aid them in their educational pursuits at SCC and beyond. Kelsey and Eden are not strangers to SCC.
Both students took advantage of SCC credit in escrow classes and participated in the Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering (WSYE) competition held at SCC. Kelsey is the daughter of Anita and Bryan Etheridge and Michael Trip. She plans to complete her Associate of Arts degree at SCC with a career goal in the psychology field. Eden is the daughter of Mindy and Scott Farren. With a career goal in the field of pharmacology, Eden is pursuing an Association of Arts degree at SCC.
