Celebrate with the Saints at the Local County Fairs

It's County Fair time in Southern Illinois! Representatives from Shawnee Community College will be on hand to share the excitement at this end of the summer tradition. The Pulaski County Fair will be August 11th through the 16th. The Union County Fair will run from August 18th to August 23rd. Members of the SCC student ambassadors will participate each evening, sharing general SCC information and discussing the upcoming fall semester which beings Monday, August 18th.

SCC president, Dr. Larry Peterson will join the ambassadors on Monday, August 11th at the Pulaski County Fair and on Thursday, August 21st at the Union County Fair.

In addition to faculty and staff, members of the SCC Saints and Lady Saints sports teams will mingle with the crowds. You can expect to see some ball action with the basketball Saints and Lady Saints and a preview of the SCC Spirit Squad performances.

Scheduled for the Pulaski County: Tuesday, August 12th, the Men's Basketball team; Wednesday, August 13th, the Spirit Squad; and Thursday, August 14th, the Lady Saints Basketball team. Scheduled for the Union County Fair: Monday, August 18th, the Spirit Squad; Tuesday, August 19th, Saints Basketball and Baseball; Wednesday, August 20th, Volleyball and Lady Saints softball; and Thursday, August 21st, Lady Saints Basketball.

Fair goers can pick up fall schedule booklets; Saints Place housing applications and information; and information about upcoming SCC Special Events.
