Verdonaring 07 Counselors Retreat

Shawnee Community College employees met with local high school counselors at the Spring Counselor’s Retreat in March. SCC officials spoke to counselors about the new programs being developed at the college, such as Appliance Repair, and the revamping of the electronics program. A presentation about Student Housing from the Foundation was also shared with the counselors. Other topics discussed include the Early Childhood Education Program partnership through SIUC, recruitment opportunities for SCC, and corrections articulation capstone with SIUC. Counselors also shared new initiatives at their schools with the SCC representatives. Lunch was catered by Kelly’s Kountry Kitchen in Dongola.
