SCC College Bowl Third in State for Third Year

Shawnee's College Bowl team placed third in the state in the 2008 Illinois Community College Student Activities Association State College Bowl academic competition. For the third year in a row, SCC's team placed first in the Illinois Community College Student Activities Association Regional College Bowl regional tournament, earning the team the right to compete in the State College Bowl tournament. Last year, the SCC team also finished third in the state.

The five top team SCC College Bowl members participated in the state competition. Zackary Garrett of Simpson, Sarah Uehle of Dongola, Marcus Etherton of Anna-Jonesboro, Robert Dale of Vienna and Sean Haase of Dongola, along with SCC College Bowl sponsor, Rhonda Dillow, traveled to Moraine Valley Community College for the competition.

Statewide College Bowl tournaments have been co-sponsored by Illinois Community College Trustee's Association and the Illinois Community College Student Activities Association since 1993.
