Shawnee Spirit Squad Trains with Elite Training Camp

Members of the Shawnee Community College Spirit Squad participated in a private training camp in July. Elite Training Camp of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, conducted the camp. During the two-day camp, SCC squad members learned two new dance routines and 12 cheers.

The SCC Spirit Squad plans to cheer at all home basketball games and other special events. They will also participate in the Pulaski County Fair on August 13 and the Union County Fair on August 18. Six squad members are returning for their sophomore year: Emily Ketelsen, Latoria Mayfield, Maegan Ferguson, Jessica Hoskins, Quanita Vaughn and Danielle Porterfield.

The SCC Foundation sponsors 15 Spirit Squad scholarships each year. The scholarships provide tuition waivers and textbook loans.
