SCC to Open Alternative High School site in Cairo

Shawnee Community College is excited to announce the opening of a Alternative High School site in Cairo. Classes will be held in the Cairo Community Education Center located at 2403 Walnut St.

The Alternative High School program serves students in grades 9-12 who, for various reasons, have been separated from their local high school. Students attend the Alternative High School site and complete the coursework required by their high school. The goal of the program is to get students back on track for graduation. In order to be enrolled in Alternative High School, students must be referred by their high school guidance counselor and principal. The new Cairo site is the fourth Alternative High School site in the SCC district.

The SCC Alternative High School also serves students throughout the district at sites in Anna, Metropolis, and at the Rustic Campus of SCC in Ullin. For more information, contact Ginger McBride at 618-634-3319, or your local high school guidance counselor.
