Annual High School Business Skills Competition Results

Shawnee Community College business faculty organized and led the annual high school business skills event at the college's main campus on Thursday, February 25th. Approximately 180 students competed in written, performance, and presentation events during the day-long competition. Participating students represented Anna-Jonesboro High School, Joppa High School, Goreville High School, Century High School, Massac County High School, and Vienna High School.

The top three competitors in each event were awarded trophies. Massac County High School business instructor Mary Schneider (pictured above left) was recognized as the 2010 Outstanding Business Educator for her many years of service and leadership while promoting business education. Joppa High School student Matthew Hastings (pictured above right) was awarded the Outstanding Business Student of 2010 for his dedication to education and community service.
