Build Your Own Business Course Available

The Small Business Development Center at Shawnee Community College will be offering a "Build Your Own Business" course beginning in February. Classes will cover basic start-up issues and concerns and will provide you with hands-on solutions.

Topics include: Will My Idea Work?; Business Plan Development; Employees and Tax Liabilities; Record Keeping; Legal Issues; Insurance; Financing; Marketing, and more. These areas will be presented by some of the most knowledgeable business professionals and entrepreneurs in the region.

The 10-week class will be 6 to 9 p.m., Tuesdays, Feb. 19 to April 29 at the main campus in Ullin, Illinois. This class is valued at $125, but is available to the public free of charge with pre-registration required. A light dinner will also be provided prior to each class at 5:30 p.m. in the River Room.
