SCC Baseball Spring Break

Spring break for the Shawnee Saints Baseball team was a trip with both wins and losses. They won two out of the five games, putting their record at 4-3. Their first game against Kaskaskia proved to be a tough match with the score SCC 5, Kaskaskia 8. The Saints second game against Kaskaskia had the same outcome, with the Saints losing 12-7.

“Our defense was a problem throughout the game, allowing unearned runs,” SCC Coach Greg Sheppard said. The Saints played St. Cloud, losing the first game 0-3 but later came back to win the second game 4-2. Keith Jones picked up his first win as a Saint by throwing a complete game and striking out six.

The final game against ITASCA ended in yet another victory for the Saints winning 11-8.  “The Saints pounded out hits and Brad Perry threw innings of no hit balls to pick up his first win of the season,” Sheppard said.
