A Journey of Contemporary African American Artists
This is your invitation to a presentation for A Journey of
Contemporary African American Artists, in the Atrium at Shawnee
College, on January 27, 2012, at 10:00 am. This will include a
Powerpoint presentation of artworks by DeSande R, Najjar
Abdul-Musawwir, Robert Ketchens, David Crim, and Malcolm McCrae; a
discussion about the artists; and a question-and-answer session. All
students, instructors, and staff members are invited to the
presentation.
You are also invited to the reception for the artists at 7:00 pm on
the same night. The reception will include music, catered
refreshments, and an opportunity to interact with the artists. The
public is invited. Admission is free.
The show is being presented to celebrate African American artists in
this area, to enlighten local people about the quality of artwork in
this area, to encourage art appreciation, and to demonstrate a
dedication to multiculturalism at Shawnee Community College.
