Matt Karn Inks with Shawnee

Matt Karn, a 6'4" 190 lbs. shooting guard signed a letter of intent to play basketball with Shawnee Community College last week. Matt attended Ohio County High School in Kentucky, where he averaged 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assist per game during his senior campaign. Matt was most recognized for his big-time jump shot. He shot 47 percent from the field, 39 percent from behind the arc, and 81 percent from the free-throw line. Ohio County finished the season as the 2005 3rd Region Champs with a record of 26-8. Ohio County was eliminated from the state tourney by the South Laurel in the first round, the eventual KHSAA State Champions. "Matt has a strong work ethic in the classroom as well as on the hardwood," SCC Coach John Sparks said. "I expect him to accomplish big things here at Shawnee."
