Foundation Golf Tournament Successful

The 18th Annual SCC Foundation Golf Day Classic was Monday, June 13 at the Gambit Golf Course in Vienna. Through the generosity of businesses and individuals throughout the area, the Shawnee Community College Foundation was able to raise more than $10,000. The Shawnee Community College Foundation is organized exclusively for educational and charitable purposes to promote the programs of the Shawnee Community College District.

Proceeds from the event provides financial support for a diverse collection of student-oriented funding opportunities, including scholarships, academics, and sports. The SCC Foundation welcomes gifts of money, property, stocks, and other types of contributions, as well as bequests. Gifts to the Foundation are fully tax-deductible.

The overall team winners were John Abercrombie, Jack Pettit and Terry Farrow from Capaha Bank.

The Closest to the Pin winners were Bill Blackburn (men) and Pam Hodges (women). The Longest Drive winners were Casey VanWinkle (men) and Elaine Johnson (women). There were 27 teams of three that competed in the event.
