Financial Education Class Participant Receives
$50 Savings Account
Lavern McDonald of Mounds received a $50 savings
account as a successful participant in Shawnee Community College's "Your
Money and Your Life" program. The class focuses on providing low-
and moderate-income residents a chance to learn the skills needed to
successfully manage their finances for life. Students can sign up for
the free class today, or just show up for any class! Through the program,
participants will receive helpful advice and discover new ways to achieve
your financial goals.
The next class will run 6 to 8 p.m., June 14, 16, 21, 23, 28 and 30
on the SCC main campus and are open to anyone interested. The program
is sponsored by SCC Adult Education and the First State Bank of Olmstead.
Drawing for one $50 savings account at the First State Bank of Olmsted
will be given away during at the conclusion of the class. For more information,
