AEP Changes to SSS

Effective Fall Semester 2005, the Shawnee Community College Academic Enhancement Program's name will be changed from AEP to SSS (Student Support Services).
The program is funded by a Student Support Services grant, so the name change will reduce student confusion and will ease the transition of students when they continue at other colleges and universities. Eighty percent of the college and university programs across the nation refer to themselves as Student Support Services.

Also, there will be less confusion when dealing with outside colleges, legislators, and the news media, as they all are much more familiar with the terms Trio and Student Support Services.
