New Trustee Elected

Cathleen Belcher was recently elected for a four-year term as a member of the SCC Board of Trustees. Belcher graduated from SIUC with a BS in Clothing & Textiles Merchandising. She returned to Chicago to work for two years before moving back south to Dongola.

As a SCC Board Member, Cathy will be working with other board members to adopt and enforce all necessary policies for the governance of the college, operate the college in accordance with all legal provisions, and appoint and fix the salaries of the president and all other personnel.

Currently, Cathy lives outside Anna and has two daughters, Beth Taylor, 26; and Laura Taylor, 21. She is employed at Southern Illinois Electric Cooperative. For the past few years she has been a member of the Shawnee Community College Foundation Board of Directors. Incumbents Dr. Manul Goins and Don Patton were also re-elected in April for another six years on the SCC Board.
