SCC Student Earns Scholarships

Shawnee Community College sophomore Adam Waller recently received notice of two scholarships from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Waller received one $1000 Academic Scholarship, along with a $2000 Community College Transfer Scholarship. The Community College Transfer Scholarship is renewable each year. Waller plans to major in philosophy at SIU, and go on to Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY.

At Shawnee, Adam is involved in the Student Ambassadors, and Phi Theta Kappa, which is an honor society.

"I'm excited about the scholarships. I know it's a blessing and this will help me achieve my goals," Waller said. He plans to begin his studies at SIU in the fall.
