College Goal Sunday
at SCC on February 26
The staff of the Financial Aid Department at Shawnee
Community College realizes that many students and their families are unaware
of tuition assistance available and are unfamiliar with the application
process. SCC is here to help with College Goal Sunday, which will be Sunday,
February 26 at 2 p.m. in the Educational Center on the main campus near
Ullin. College Goal Sunday is a day to gather information and complete the
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with the help of financial
aid experts. Most major colleges and universities require the FAFSA to qualify
for grants, scholarships, loans and other financial aid.
Participants will need to bring 2005 income tax information, W-2 forms,
driver's license and proof of any other form of income for 2005, such as
social security, child support or welfare benefits. In addition, dependent
students need their parent's 2005 income tax information.
Shawnee Community College's low tuition and financial aid make higher education
possible for everyone. Almost 70% of our students receive grants, scholarships
or other financial assistance. Attend SCC's College Goal Sunday to find
out how to get your share. Refreshments will be served and door prizes will
be given. For more information, contact Tammy Capps, Director of Student
Resources, at 618-634-3200, option #2.
