Meth Busters Workshop

Methamphetamine use in Southern Illinois and the
surrounding area is rising at a phenomenal rate. Shawnee Community College
invites you to attend an informational workshop on the use and abuse of
methamphetamine in our area. This workshop will take place at 6 p.m., Thursday,
Feb. 2, at Shawnee Community College, in Ullin, IL.
Parents, teachers, school administrators, counselors, youth group leaders
and concerned citizens are invited to attend. The presenter is Dean Hamilton.
Mr. Hamilton has been in law enforcement for 18 years. For the past 10 years
he has worked as an undercover drug agent for the Southern Illinois Drug
Task Force. He has been involved in hundreds of methamphetamine cases. He
has testified in court as an expert witness numerous times. Mr. Hamilton
has taught hundreds of classes on the manufacturing of methamphetamine to
state-wide Law Enforcement groups in Illinois and Kentucky, along with fire
departments and EMS services. He has been helpful in making school officials
aware of the signs to watch for, and the effects of methamphetamine use
on today's youth.
This workshop is free to attend, with three C.P.D.U.'s available for school
