A Growing Opportunity

Financial Aid is any scholarship, grant, loan, or work program that helps to pay for college expenses. The mission of the Shawnee Community College Financial Aid office is to provide education and information, guidance, and support for students and families interested in the financial aid process.
The first step is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid form, commonly known as the FAFSA. By completing this form, students are automatically applying for a Pell Grant, FSEOG, and MAP for Illinois residents.
The FAFSA must be filled out each academic year. The FAFSA form is available from high school counselors, in the SCC Financial Aid Office, and FAFSA on the web at www.fafsa.ed.gov. To complete the FAFSA online, internet access computers are available in the computer labs on the main campus, at the Extension Centers, and in the SCC library.
For more information or to make an appointment to meet with financial aid staff, call the Financial Aid Office at 618-634-3200, Option #2, or visit our website at www.shawneecc.edu/financial_aid.
