SCC Students Participate in Accounting Challenge

Several Shawnee Community College students participated in the SIU Accounting Challenge in February. Students were tested on their knowledge of basic and advanced accounting principles. Shawnee Community College sophomore Brandon McElmurry from Pulaski won 1st place and was awarded a $500 SIU scholarship. McElmurry is pursuing an associate of science degree. Jon Pengress of Jonesboro took 2nd place and received a $300 SIU scholarship. Pengress is a sophomore at SCC.
