Players Sign With Saints

The Lady Saints Basketball team will be under new direction this season, with the addition of Coach Brad Phillips to the SCC family. Eager to add to his team, Coach Phillips has already signed three new players for the 2006-2007 academic year.

Piggott High School standout Lauren Hickson has signed to play basketball for Shawnee Community College of Ullin, Illinois. Hickson, a 5-foot-9 forward, finished her high school career with 1,359 points and was selected to play in the Arkansas High School Coaches Association all-star game later this month. Hickson averaged 16 points and nearly 8 rebounds per game while shooting 68 percent from the field for the Lady Mohawks.

Men's basketball coach, John Sparks, picked up a new recruit from the Bowling Green, Kentucky area. Timothy (T.J.) Woodard has just signed a national letter of intent to play basketball with the Saints. T. J. is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tim Woodard.
