Men's Basketball Team Returns Home to Defeat Western Ky.

Shawnee started the game with a different five than Saints fans have been accustomed to seeing. Three of the five had only seen limited minutes or had not played at all in the last two games. "They earned that opportunity because they worked their butts off in practice over the last couple of days. Sometimes you have switch things up in order to avoid guys getting satisfied." Coach Sparks commented.

Although the Saints started off a little slow offensively they buckled down on the defensive end and made life miserable for the West Kentucky Stars offense. "Offense comes and goes, but our defense has to be consistent every night." Coach Sparks commented. Midway through the first half Brandon Anderson caught fire connecting on three 3pt. field goals while Garrett Stone also knocked down both of his 3pt. attempts.

Shawnee led 39 -28 at the half and started the second half with an offensive explosion that pushed the lead to twenty-five. The Stars of West Kentucky would not quit. Within the last five minutes they connected on six three point field goals cutting the lead to single digits. The Saints closed the deal with TJ Burnett making six consecutive free-throws.

Shawnee moves to 7-5 on the season and travel to Spoon River for their first conference game on December 19that 7:30pm.
