Tim Frizzell is a full time Speech and Theater Instructor at Shawnee Community College. Tim earned his BS in Speech Communication from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 2002 with a specialization in Organizational Communication. Tim continued his education at SIU-C and earned his MS in Speech Communication in 2003.
Tim has held numerous positions both in an out of education, including adjunct instructor, associate pastor, and organizational development specialist for a non-profit organization to name a few. Tim was also Shawnee Community College's Educational Center Coordinator from 2006-2008.
Tim worked as an adjunct Speech Instructor for both Shawnee Community College and John A. Logan College teaching Public Speaking and Interpersonal Communication courses before becoming the full time Speech and Theater Instructor at SCC in 2008. Tim currently teaches communication and theater courses and sponsors the SCC Drama Club.
Tim has also directed and produced SCC's theatrical performances since Fall 2006. The SCC Speech and Theater Department has typically produced two musical theater performances per year, but is working to restructure this schedule to accommodate more productions and include classic plays and other non-musicals. Past performances under Tim's direction include Hairspray, Lil' Abner, The Wizard of Oz, Grease, and High School Musical just to name a few.
Outside of the classroom, Tim enjoys spending time with his three children, Abby, Claire, and Sam, and his wife, Charity. Tim likes riding motorcycles, doing carpentry work, and is a certificated private pilot.
