Educational and Professional History

Stacy Nicklow received her BA in English and her BS in Mechanical Engineering from Bucknell University in 1993.

After working as an engineer for several years, she returned to graduate school at Southern Illinois University to pursue a master's degree in English with a concentration in literature. She received her MA in 2003, and the focus of her graduate research was twentieth century American literature and popular culture.

Before coming to Shawnee College, Stacy taught Composition I and II, Technical Writing, Analytical Writing, and Advanced Composition at SIU as well as Composition I and II and Developmental Writing at John A. Logan College.

Stacy joined Shawnee College in fall 2007 and has taught Composition I and II, Technical Writing, and Introduction to Literature.

Currently, Stacy is developing the Literature and Gender course and plans to offer it in spring 2009.
