POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Real Estate Sales and Continuing Education Instructor:
Part-time instructor position for real estate sales and continuing education.
Qualifications: (as outlined by the Illinois Real Estate Act of 2000 - IL505-0338 & IL505-0339)
To qualify as a real estate instructor, applicant must (except as provided in item 6 below), pass an examination approved by the Office of Banks and Real Estate with a minimum score of 70; AND
- 1. Hold a real estate broker's license for at least the last 3 years and have been engaged in active practice as an Illinois real estate broker; OR
- 2. Be currently admitted to practice law by the Supreme Court of Illinois and engaged in the active practice of law related to real estate practice in Illinois for at least 3 years OR
- 3. Be a properly credentialed instructor of real estate courses who is or has been engaged in the practice of teaching for at least 3 years; or as evidenced by a professional designation, such as but not limited to a Distinguished Real Estate Instructor (DREI) or approved by a college or university's governing body to each in a real estate degree program; OR
- 4. Be properly licensed or certified to engage in the business of appraisal, finance and/or related real estate occupations and a member of a national recognized association in that field and for at least 3 years been engaged in such practice; OR
- 5. In the judgment of the Director of Real Estate or a representative, qualified by experience or education, or both, to supervise a course of study pursuant to the provision of Section, 1450.280 of the Rules for the Administration of the Real estate License Act of 2000. In determining whether a person is qualified to supervise a course of study under this Section, the Director of Real Estate or a representative shall consider;
- a. The individual's teaching experience;
- b. The individual's real estate experience;
- c. Any real estate, business, or legal education of the individual;
- d. Results of a personal interview.
Salary: $450.00 per credit hour

decision has been reached. At that time,
applicants will be informed of the decision by letter.
