Shawnee Community College is offering free GED classes throughout the year. All classes are open entry/open exit, and students may enroll any day or night that class is held. Transportation reimbursement available.

The Shawnee Community College GED Program offers
assistance to students in acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary to pass
the GED examination for a high school equivalency diploma. Some of the program

GED Program Guidelines
GED classes are offered at no cost to adults age 16 and over who have not
completed high school.
Instruction in English, social studies, science, mathematics and United
States and Illinois constitutions.
Day classes are offered on the SCC
Evening classes are also offered at several locations throughout
the college district each semester.
Transportation assistance is available
Two GED scholarships to attend SCC are awarded each year.
Students may enter class at any time during the school semester.
Classes are offered to students who have not completed high school and
desire to improve their skills in mathematics, reading and writing.
