Career Services
Partnerships for College and Career Success is a cooperative program
with the Five County Regional Vocational System and the 12 area high schools.
The program is designed to award college credit to students in high school
for selected courses in the areas of information processing, aggricultre,
automotive technology and nursing.The services are designed to meet the educational and employment needs of students, graduates, and community members and employers in the SCC district and surrounding area.
Students may utilize the center to obtain basic information about business and industry in the district.
SCC is commited to nurturing self-dircetion and personal responsibility in assisting those registered with the center in their careeer planning and employment goals. The center's prupose is not to guarantee employment but rather to provide a variety of programs and services which will assist the individual in determining and implementing his/her career and educational choices and include the following:
- help in devising an efficient job-search strategy
- exploration of current job opportunities through the SCC Jobline, a computerized job search database available to students and employers.
- resume critiquing and development
- linkage between business and students
- employee recruitment for employment
- reference materials
- career/job fairs
- one-on-one consultation

The SCC JobLine is a computerized system utilized in Career Services
that Shawnee Community College has incorporated to help automate numerous
functions found within the career center and enhances the services offered
to students, community members and employers.
The site streamlines student and employer registration, resume referrals, document management, placement tracking, job posting and management, and interview scheduling, As a result, students have 24x7 access to easily register, search jobs, send online inquiries and manage multiple resumes, cover letter and other employment related documents. Employers can quickly and easily post jobs on campus, choose to receive on-line applications directly from the system with current resumes attached, sign up for career fairs and much more.

Career Planning and Assessment allows the student to explore avenues available
to them. This service enables the students to match their lifestyles and abilities
with career opportunities and develop effective job search skills.
Shawnee Community College Career Services offers the KuderŪ Career Planning
System. This assessment is appropriate for use with students from Middle School to College, including adults. It will assist in your career education and career development needs.

SCC Career Services provides assistance with developing your resume and
cover letter. There are a variety of resource materials available to help
you design the perfect resume.
Annual Career/Job Fair
Each year over 40 area employers participate in the Annual Career/Job Fair. This is a great opportunity for individuals to explore employment/career opportunities available from area employers. Employers also have the opportunity to promote their businesses and identify qualified employees.
