DATE: July 14, 2007
Stanley Johnson signed a national letter of intent to play Men’s Basketball at Shawnee Community College in Ullin, Illinois. After sitting out for the entire 2006-07 season due to a knee injury Stanley looks to make his mark in the 2007-08 season. Stanley is the son of Roberta & Stanley Johnson.
Stanley played for coach Jeff Mandrell at Meridian High School where he scored a career high 40 points in the region championship game against Cairo. His senior season Stanley averaged 17.2 points, 4.6 assist, 2.6 steals, 3 rebounds, & shot 63% from the field while leading his team to a 20-10 record. Stanley was also selected to the Southern Illinois Lions Club All-Star Team.
"Stanley was injured in 2006-07, but has fully recovered and will really add depth to our backcourt this season. He is a big time competitor & great athlete that we are excited to have." Coach Sparks
