This year marks Coach Daly's first season at the helm of the Shawnee Community College Saints baseball program. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the program. Daly played professional baseball for over 8 seasons, primarily in Texas and Arizona. Immediately after his playing career ended, he was offered a position as Pitching Coach by former Major League Baseball manager Tim Johnson for the El Paso Diablos. He served in this role for 2 seasons before making the transition back to collegiate baseball. Coach Daly accepted an offer to be Assistant Coach for the Peninsula Oilers of the Alaskan Baseball League in 2014.
The following fall, he was hired as Assistant Coach for a Division 1 Junior College in Southern Illinois where he spent two seasons. In 2015, he was quickly promoted to Head Coach of the Oilers where he led his club to their first Championship Series appearance in over a decade. In 2017, Coach Daly accepted the offer to become Head Coach for the Front Royal Cardinals of the Valley Baseball League where he saw 5 of his players selected in this year's Major League Baseball Draft. Coach Daly has already seen 19 of his players get drafted by Major League Baseball organizations since making his return to college baseball in the coaching realm in 2014.
With recruiting ties not only nationwide, but internationally as well, Coach Daly is eager to turn Shawnee Community College into a national contender, year in and year out, as well as a destination for baseball's most elite amateur talent.
Assistant Coach - John Adams
Coach Adams begins his first year as Assistant Coach for the Saints baseball program. He has been coaching at the Division 1 Junior College level since 2014.
After being hired as Head Coach in late July of this year, Coach Daly had the following to say about hiring Coach Adams to be his right-hand man: "To me, it was a no-brainer. John Adams was without a doubt my first phone call. Having had the privilege to coach with him the past 2 seasons, I felt very fortunate when he accepted my offer. In all of my years in baseball, I've never seen someone with the ability to coach, instruct, identify strengths and weaknesses, lead, and develop young talent as well as John Adams and we are beyond fortunate to have him! He will be a major asset and integral piece to the success of this program moving forward!"
