The Steps to Getting Tech Prep Dual Credit

• The participating student must be at least 16 years of age by the end of the spring semester in which the course is being taken.
• In some program areas, students must pass the reading section of the Shawnee Community College entrance test with a 38 or better in order for escrow Tech Prep enrollment.  Students receiving an ACT composite of 21 or better will be exempt from the ASSET/COMPASS test.
• The student must receive a grade of C or better in one or both of the designated courses to receive college credit.
• Any student or parent seeking additional information regarding Tech Prep should contact the appropriate high school counselor.
