Southeast Missouri State University, and Southern Illinois University-Carbondale
as per articulation agreements. These courses will also transfer to most public

TDR 165 ORIENTATION TO TRUCK DRIVING
Fall /Spring/Summer
This course provides a background of the trucking industry. Students prepare
for the state CDL written test to acquire a driving permit and basic control
systems are introduced.
Credit: 2 hours - 2 lecture hours per week

TDR 166 TRUCK DRIVING
Fall /Spring/Summer
This course is designed to familiarize the student with semi-truck tractor
trailer driving and operation. The course includes instruction in starting,
moving, road testing, diagnosing, and over-the-road operation of truck tractor
and trailer.
Credit: 6 hours - Four lecture and four lab hours per week for eight weeks

TDR 167 TRUCK DRIVER/CDL REFRESHER
Fall /Spring/Summer
This course is designed to evaluate abilities of persons who possess current
commercial drivers license and to provide additional training if necessary.
Credit: .5 hours - One lab hour per week.
Prerequisite(s): Must possess current CDL and DOT physical
TDR 168 LOAD SECUREMENT
Fall /Spring/Summer
This course is designed to familiarize the student with semi-trailer load
placement and securement. The course includes instruction in chaining, strapping,
and tarping of loads.
Credit: 1 hour – One lecture hour per week.

TDR 199 TRUCK DRIVING EXTERNSHIP
Fall /Spring/Summer
A course designed to give the student practical over-the-road driving experience
under the supervision of an experienced truck-tractor driver.
Credit: 3 hours - Fifteen lab hours per week.
