OHT 120 INTRO TO PRUNING

This course focuses on the principles and practices used to prune woody
ornamental shrubs and trees in the landscape. Students will learn about proper
timing and plant responses to pruning a variety of common landscape plants.
Majority of the work will be hands-on. A pair of bypass hand pruners are
required.
Credit: 1 hour – Two lab hours per week.

OHT 124 INTRO TO PROPAGATING PLANTS

This course is designed to teach students a variety of common
plant propagation techniques. Techniques include preparing seeds, dividing
perennials, working with bulbs, grafting, layering and rooting cuttings.
It is a hands-on course.
Credit: 2 hours – One lecture and two lab hours per
week.

OHT 130 GREENHOUSE MANAGEMENT

A study of the various culture techniques utilized for the
commercial production of plants. Various other greenhouse management problems
will be stressed.
