This program is designed to teach and train the student to function as an integral part of a health care team, under the direction of a registered or licensed nurse, in nursing homes or home health care settings.
Upon satisfactory completion of the program, the student will be eligible to take the State of Illinois Nurse Aide Competency test.
Persons seeking admission to the Certified Nurse Assistant
Program must meet the following requirements:
- Be at least 16 years of age.
- Successfully complete a TABE test scoring at a 9th grade
reading level or above.
- A fingerprint background check prior to beginning the
program and a 2-step PPD test for TB. The information
will be provided at an orientation session prior to the start
of the class.
